Massage AfterCare

Your body & mind are now in a relaxed state. For maximum benefits from this treatment, Follow these guidelines:

  • Massage is a detoxifying treatment so 

  • Drink plenty of water

  • Reduce caffeine consumption

  • Avoid alcohol for 24hrs

  • Try to reduce or give up smoking

  • Eat a light diet

  • If headache occurs after treatment avoid painkillers

  • Take time to relax through yoga, meditation, exercise and warm baths

  • Regular treatments to aid relaxation and to get the best effects

  • Get plenty of rest (for the rest of the day if possible). Avoid exertion. Avoid stressful situations

  • Massage treatments work best, when performed on a regular basis. Make sure to book your next session promptly. 

Contra-actions

Listed below are contra-actions which you may experience after a treatment and may last 24-48 hours. Please be assured that they are a positive sign the treatment is working. To counteract possible contra-actions and to gain the most from your treatment clients are advised to follow the aftercare advice above.

  • Headache

  • Heightened emotional state

  • Worsening of symptoms and current ailments

  • May feel worse before healing can take place

  • Dizziness or nausea

  • Disrupted sleeping pattern

  • Aching and soreness

  • Fatigue or energy surge

  • Increased thirst

  • Passing more urine, more frequent stools

  • Cold-like symptoms

These reactions are uncommon but perfectly normal and show that toxins are being expelled from the body, so that it may re-balance and cleanse itself.
